Picture Perfect!

Picture Perfect!

I pick up my polka dotted pencil with its slightly dulled point and lackluster eraser to begin writing my blog. I have no idea why I am compelled to write with this implement today, but I always listen to my heart and obey. I instinctively notice the wispy strands of clouds dancing by my window and I am sure that there is still more than enough sunlight to finish this week’s story.

Through my upstairs window, I see a young couple walking hand in hand and engaged in what seems to be carefree banter, blue jays swooping back and forth from one tree to another and cars pulling into their appropriate driveways just in time for dinner.

As I redirect my focus to where I want it to be, there on my desk, is my beautiful Barney. He stands proudly in nautical attire, inside a frame that embodies the spirit of his soul. The empowering words of love, hope, peace and faith square off this favorite image of mine.

The power of a photo. This is really where my story begins. “A picture is worth a thousand words”, couldn’t be more true at this very moment. For seven years, my smartphone made it easy for me to snap a photo of Barney enjoying the simple pleasures of life with me. Those daily activities not only gave me satisfaction to capture with my iPhone, but also provided me with absolute joy to share with family and friends.

The memories of my boy come magically back to life when I look at these visuals. My extra special framed photos, that speak volumes to me personally, adorn my bedroom dresser and other areas of my home.

If I could ever give advice that I wholeheartedly believe in, it would be to take any photo that awaken your senses on any given day of the week. It doesn’t have to be a birthday, anniversary or holiday. These special everyday moments, will live forever in priceless photographs.

If I didn’t have these colorful images to keep me company or take me back in time, I would almost feel as if I was lost at sea. They are a life raft of sorts. Thank you Captain Barney for being my inspiration and joining me for life’s journey for those incredibly special and unforgettable years.
