Today I see how so many hearts are broken. The tears that fall and puddle on the floor are so clearly visible from all parts of the world as Norbie made his way into heaven.
I bet many of you didn’t realize that I was often mistaken for Norbert on my social media platforms. I considered myself to be his larger but not nearly as talented Doppelganger. (A role I took seriously).
So today I wanted to give each and every one of you a small gift of comfort while you grieve and go through the anguishing pain of loving and losing a little furry friend that you have followed throughout the years.
Now usually I can’t discuss the celebrations planned up here in detail as I did sign a Non Disclosure Agreement years ago when I first arrived. But the “powers that be” gave me permission to share some of the special activities planned for Norbie.
First I think it’s important that you know that animal lover, Betty White, is in charge of all of our “welcome home” events. She treats every animal as if they are her own and is a perfectionist through and through. Fred, Norbert’s bigger brother, has been filling Betty in on those special details that only a close sibling would know.
The acres of emerald green grass have been flawlessly manicured, the birds are chirping in unison and our head chef has prepared the same meal that Mom Julie made for him daily. Our other team of coordinators are making sure that the blankets and beds are woven with the softest of cloud like fabrics for Norbert to enjoy.
The children from the hospitals that Norbert brought so much joy to, including Sawyer, will be showering him with sweet hugs, kisses and treats along the never ending parade route.
It will be a celebration like no other up here. To Mom Julie and the entire Steines family, including Parker, we hold you in our hearts.
Until we meet again, “we got your boy”. Our love will have no limits as we treasure his kind and gentle spirit. Remember to look up to the stars, smile and simply say “high five” buddy.
